AWB is off to a great start in 2021. We started the New Year by introducing our new show Meet Me in St. Louis which is a timeless classic about a four sisters as they become educated in the ways of the world through a series of seasonal vignettes. This year’s performance will be a combined show with both the AWB Jr. and AWB Sr programs, marking it as AWB’s third combined show.
In February we had a wonderful Valentines Party. We played games including an AWB version of “Name that tune”. We used songs from previous shows including Pippin, Aladdin, Oliver, Annie, Working and Singing in the Rain. We also did Valentine’s Trivia to explore the history of the holiday. Actors got into the spirit by getting dressed in red, pink, and purple. We also shared a recipe for a mock cocktail that was very popular. Everyone had a wonderful time!
On Valentine’s Day we held an encore performance of Anything Goes which was quite popular the second time around. The actors of AWB Seniors reunited for celebration on the high-seas in this Cole Porter classic that includes beloved songs such as I Get A Kick Out Of You, You’re The Top, and Easy To Love.
