    Our Programs

    AWB Seniors

For AWB Seniors, the ultimate triumphs are the self-esteem and lasting friendships that are created from working as a close-knit ensemble. Our program meets once a month from November-October, with a 4-day intensive workshop in July, all leading up to a public performance in the fall. Participants receive training in acting, singing, movement, and improvisational techniques. No experience needed.

    AWB Juniors

As the youngest thespians at AWB (aged 4 years to teen), our AWB Junior actors meet once a month for 10 months to create a musical based on a children’s story or fable, culminating in a live performance of their show in the spring. Throughout the program, participants help write the script and songs and receive training in acting, singing, and movement. No experience needed.

    AWB Acting Lab

Let us bring the stage to you! The AWB Acting Lab teaches performing arts programs on-site at care institutions and other partnering organizations. We work to help participants step outside of their comfort zone and discover new passions and abilities. Programs run from a 1-day experience to an 8-week course with various curriculums. No experience needed.

    Our Programs

    AWB Masters

The AWB Masters program provides immersive conservatory-style training in the performing arts. Each year, we select unique disciplines of the dramatic arts as the focus of the program. Past program focuses have included a deep dive into Musical Theatre, Shakespeare, Directing & Acting for Film. Previous experience in AWB programming is required.

    AWB Melodies

Opening conversations and facilitating broader community awareness of people with physical disabilities is the core of our AWB Melodies program. Performances and educational disability outreach at schools, universities, hospitals and community centers help shine a light on the need for representation and inclusion. Programs are uniquely developed for the organization requesting a presentation.

    AWB Connects

Time spent off-stage is just as important as time spent on it. In our social and interactive program, AWB Connects, actors build community and create long-lasting friendships through weekly virtual TGIF socials, speaker series, and in-person gatherings. Whether exploring other art forms or catching a movie, we love going off-script and spending time together outside of our more structured programs .

Get Involved with AWB

AWB relies on volunteers. Volunteers assist our actors at monthly workshops as they learn their lines and rehearse their parts. Additionally, we are always looking for new budding actors and actresses! No matter what your age or experience level, AWB could be a life changing experience for you or your loved one. The only requirement is that you have a physical disability.
